Bus Driver at the University of Virginia Transit Service
September 2025 - Present
I currently work as a bus driver for UVA. I've been working since I first got to college and I love it here. I had to first pass my Class B Commercial Permit test and then I was in training for several months before I got my Class B CDL with a passenger endorsement. The process of learning how to drive a bus is fairly simple and repetion based but I found that I had to change a lot of mindsets to ensure I always drive safely.
One major idea is knowing when to put things aside. A lot of things happen on the road and my life exists outside of driving the bus as well. However, I have to be present and focused on the road and my passengers at all times. This means I have to let go of slight mistakes on both my part and other drivers and focus on the present because letting my mind wander to anything but the task at hand would be dangerous to myself and everyone around me.

Virginia Earth System Science Scholars Intern
Summer 2025
Over last Summer I interned with the Virginia Space Grant Consortium and helped with their Virginia Earth System Science Scholars Academy. Over the course of the two weeks I guided two teams of ten high school age scholars in planning a theoretical satellite mission to study the Earth's spheres. At the end of the week they gave a presentation to various NASA administrators, scientists, and former directors at NASA Langley Research Center.
I participated in this program as a scholar while I was in high school and so it was a really great opportunity to intern for it and help educate the next generation.
